EPISODE 1: FRESH PASTA & HOMEMADE ALFREDO SAUCE

Join Guest Chef Hannah Nix into the wonderful world of fresh pasta and homemade Alfredo Sauce. Once you had homemade you will never go back to the jar stuff again!

                                  Serves 4

Shopping List:
               For Pasta
2 cups All Purpose Flour
2 tablespoons mince parsley
pinch salt
2 eggs  (or 1/2 cup Egg Beater)
1 tablespoon Extra Virgin Olive Oil

          For Simple Alfredo Sauce
1/2 cup shredded FRESH parmesan cheese (not the Kraft Grated kind!) plus more to thicken and garnish
2 cup heavy cream
Salt & Pepper to taste

Remember these are blank slates, add different herbs to your pasta, sprinkle in some garlic powder in your sauce. Pair with some sautéed shrimp or grilled chicken! The possibilities are endless.

Shopping List

2 1/2 Cup (350 g) all purpose flour

1 teaspoon (4 g) salt

1 tablespoon (14 gram) granulated sugar

1 Cup (2 sticks) butter, cut into 1 inch cubes and chilled

1/4 to 1/2 Cup Ice water

Shopping List:

1 lb + 4 oz Bread Flour

5 gram Instant Dry Yeast

12.5 oz Warm Water

11.5 grams Salt


For conventional ovens bake preheat oven to 500 degrees then spray the loaves with water, place them in the oven, and reduce the oven temperature to 450°F. Bake the loaves for 18 to 24 minutes. Remove the loaves from the oven when they're a deep, golden brown, and transfer them to a rack to cool.
